How to Become Involved….

I.            How to become a Christian

Becoming a Christian involves acknowledging that I am a sinner in need of a Savior.  I must ask Jesus Christ to be my Savior, believing He will forgive my sins through His death on the cross.   I must trust in Jesus Christ alone and not in good works.  In doing so, I will receive the healing and life-changing work of God’s Holy Spirit in my life.  The result of following Jesus Christ will be God’s peace in my life now, and the assurance of eternal life with him forever. (see Romans 3:22,23; John 3:16; Galatians 2:20; Revelation 3:20; Mark 1:15; 1 John 5:11,12). In response to this, I must choose to practice God’s truth and make Jesus the Lord of my life.

II.            How to become a confessing member

Becoming a member of Fifth Reformed Church is easy!  It involves the following simple steps:

  • Believe that Jesus died and rose again, and profess personal faith in Christ as your Savior and the Lord of your life. (see above, and Rom. 10:9)
  • Attend the “101” class on church membership, offered 2-3 times per year on Sundays.
  • Meet with the Elders to be approved for membership (meets on the 1st Monday of the month @ 6:30 pm)
  • Be publicly received as a new member on a Sunday. Those who have not been previously baptized may also be baptized at that time.

NOTE: Those who have been members in good standing with another Christian church may be received by Transfer of Membership from that church.  We still request that you meet with the Elders to request membership…and get to know us!
